At almost every instance when Mark Sahm was working
on his art or writing, there was music playing in the background.
Whether it is jazz, rock, electronica, or downtempo, he rarely works
in silence.
Since Sahm had never learned how to play any instruments,
creating music was always an endeavor he dreamed about but could not
execute. It was always something that was just out of reach.
However, in late 2004, Sahm began experimenting digitally
with recorded samples and MIDI files. After some trial and error, Sahm
started making remixes of popular TV themes, as well as some original
compositions— entirely on his Macintosh computers.
The results were eventually brought together
in the episodes of the alternative podcast Magic
Junk Radio, which can be found on iTunes.

As of 2007, Sahm continues to work on
music compositions in his free time, and hopes to learn an instrument
someday.
